An evolution of the original, Bodyfurn.Flex is a stunning new sustainable chair that builds on our proven, pioneering ergonomics that changed learning spaces for tens of thousands of students almost two decades ago. Made from 92% post-consumer recycled materials, Bodyfurn.Flex has been created with an enhanced level of active movement and is contoured for comfort and support in senior learning and working environments.

Where it all started

It all started with a simple question. Could a well-designed ergonomic chair enhance concentration and learning in the classroom?

Several years ago, we visited classrooms throughout New Zealand, measured 20,000 students and studied their behaviours in classrooms. By the end of that extensive research, we found that most school chairs inhibited movement and restricted blood flow, resulting in unproductive fidgeting and off-task time.
So, we designed the Bodyfurn® chair, the world’s first dynamic seating solution, helping students learn in comfort, in classrooms around the world.

Fast forward to today. We challenged ourselves on how we could further enhance and advance our product designs for our customers. 

The result, Bodyfurn.Flex.

Empathetically designed
Bodyfurn.Flex offers meaningful, inclusive and human-centred user experiences. Leaning in to concentrate, stretching back to listen, turning to share and collaborate - every instinctive movement is naturally supported for greater comfort and concentration.

Connecting with nature
Inspired by nature’s beauty, our designers integrated natural elements and processes such as the Fibonacci sequence into the Bodyfurn.Flex pattern design. The biophilic colourways mimic nature offering 3 beautiful colours: Forest, Charcoal and Basalt.

Sustainable design
Committed to limiting our impact on the planet and responsible product design, Bodyfurn.Flex plastic components are created using 92% post-consumer recycled materials.
