How to make learning responsive – create a makerspace.

Rathkeale College is a prestigious school with traditional values and high-performing students, but don’t call it old-fashioned. Principal Martin O’Grady has seen the evolution from modern to innovative, to responsive learning environments, and recognised the need for a learning space that supported BYOD and STEM.

“The sort of things that come to mind when you wander through the makerspace are things like engaged, and quiet and purposeful - and it’s comfortable.”

Martin O'Grady - Principal at Rathkeale College

We met students and teacher Lee Macri in their new makerspace to capture the transdisciplinary learning in action.
