The Base Bookcases are mobile storage units designed to organise and support flexible learning spaces. Available in straight and curve formats, they sit neatly behind Base Curve Couches and Base Couches to combine seating and storage in one cohesive arrangement. Mounted on castors with two braked wheels, they are easy to move and reposition as classroom layouts change. Designed and made in New Zealand, and backed by a 10-year warranty.
The Base Bookcases are designed specifically to complement the Base Modular Range, providing accessible, mobile storage that integrates with Base Curve Couches and Base Couches to create functional, well-organised learning environments. The 810 mm height matches the back height of Size 6 Base couches, allowing the bookcase to sit neatly behind them without disrupting the visual flow of the space.
Two formats are available: the Base Straight Bookcase at 1200 mm wide and the Base Curve Bookcase at 1339 mm wide. Both share the same 450 mm depth and 810 mm height, and each features a fixed centre shelf that divides the internal storage into two compartments. The compartments are suited to books, teaching resources, student materials and classroom supplies. Both formats are available in the same LPL colour range, making it straightforward to coordinate finishes across a space.
Castors, including two front-braked wheels, allow the bookcase to be moved smoothly and repositioned without effort when layouts need to change. The 18 mm MDF construction with durable matching edge and low pressure laminate finish is designed for practical, long-term use in busy classrooms and learning hubs. Designed and made in New Zealand, the Base Bookcases are backed by Furnware’s 10-year warranty.

Both formats share the same 450 mm depth and 810 mm height. The Curve Bookcase is 139 mm wider than the Straight to accommodate the arc profile.
