Furnware sources high- and low-pressure laminates from trusted suppliers, including Laminex and Bestwood. These laminates are selected for durability, surface performance and suitability for high-use learning environments.
For routine cleaning, use a soft cloth with warm water and a mild detergent. Furnware Power Cleaner may also be used where required. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage laminate surfaces.
See our Cleaning Care Guide for more tips on how to keep your surfaces looking like new.
For day-to-day cleaning, use a dry, clean cloth, microfibre cloth or whiteboard eraser. Cloths should be replaced regularly, as pigment build-up can reduce cleaning effectiveness.
For more thorough cleaning, we recommend using Furnware Power Cleaner or a quality liquid whiteboard cleaner. Greasy residue can be removed with warm water and a small amount of mild detergent, followed by rinsing with clean water and drying with a soft cloth.
Avoid household cleaners, as these can damage the writing surface. If marks persist, changing your whiteboard marker brand may help, as whiteboard performance can vary significantly depending on marker quality.
For further cleaning tips, see our our Cleaning Care Guide.

Bodyfurn products are designed for long-term use and can often be repaired rather than replaced. Replacement parts are available for many components, helping schools extend the life of their furniture.
At the end of a product’s useful life, its components can be separated by material. Whether these materials can be recycled will depend on the services and facilities available locally. Furnware does not currently provide a product take-back or recycling service.
Bodyfurn Flex seating contains up to 92% post-consumer recycled polypropylene. Depending on the model, 89–92% of its material composition is recyclable, with some remaining materials suitable for downcycling.
Many Bodyfurn products can be repaired rather than replaced. Replacement parts are available for a range of components, depending on the product model, age and condition.
While Furnware does not offer a general refurbishment programme, our team can assess the issue and advise on suitable repairs or arrange replacement parts where available. Extending the life of existing furniture helps schools reduce replacement costs and minimise waste.
Contact our team with the product name, photographs and details of the issue so we can recommend the best option.

Active sitting describes seating that allows small, continuous movement rather than holding the body in one fixed position. In a classroom, a student can lean forward to write, shift back to listen, or turn towards a group without leaving their chair.
Most school chairs hold the body still and don’t allow for natural movement. The Bodyfurn seat and back move with the student, supporting posture while allowing motion. The shell is ventilated, and each size is based on measurements taken from students in real classrooms.
Recommended seat and table heights vary based on student age, activity type and classroom use. As a general guide, senior students typically use a seat height of around 460 mm with a table height of approximately 730 mm, while younger students may require seat heights closer to 260 mm with tables around 455 mm high.
For general guidance, please refer to our School Furniture Size Guide. Our team can also assist with recommendations based on your specific learning environment.
